MEET THE TEACHERS
LISA CONNELL
PRINCIPAL
Miss Lisa has always had a passion for dance. She began her dance training at the age of three, participating in shows and IDTA Ballet exams up until the age of 15 before studying GCSE and A-Level Dance receiving ‘A’ grades. She then completed a three year teacher training course at Penny Meekings- The Dance College passing teaching (DDE) and vocational examinations up to Advanced 2 level. Since qualifying Lisa has taught in various dance schools and primary schools in Hertfordshire, entered students for I.S.T.D & I.D.T.A examinations and choreographed for many dance shows and competitions. Most recently Lisa has become a Qualified Teacher of the iD Company and became a certified Progressive Ballet Technique and Zumba teacher.
Lisa enjoys teaching various genres to all ages and she wants to pass on her knowledge and fulfilment that dance provides to her students. She wants them to have fun, encourage skills and to reach their highest potential.
Miss Lisa holds enhanced DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid certificates.
SOPHIE
LONGLAND
HEAD OF COMMERCIAL
Miss Sophie attended her first ballet class at the age of 7, from then her love for dance only grew. Studying Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Greek & National at The Jersey Academy of Dancing, Jersey, Channel Islands. She also passed exams at Advanced 2 level with distinction in Ballet (I.S.T.D and R.A.D), Modern & Tap. Over the years she has competed in numerous dance competitions including the Dance World Cup. Miss Sophie then went on to study Dance and Musical Theatre at one of the most prestigious colleges in the UK and graduated from Laine Theatre Arts in July 2014 with a National Trinity Diploma in Musical Theatre. Since then Miss Sophie has worked as a professional dancer performing in theatres up & down the country and on cruise ships around the world. Most recently Miss Sophie has gained an ID Company qualification in teaching Contemporary Dance. She cannot wait to pass on everything she has learnt as a working professional in the industry to energised, enthusiastic & eager dancers.
